Thomas Douglas Architects was approached to design the new headquarters for the Western Massachusetts Food Bank located in Chicopee, MA. The proposed schematic design balances warehouse and transportation requirements with offices and event space. A separate entrance diverts heavy truck traffic away from the public facing façade, which is defined by a timber framed covered terrace to create an inviting public entry that connects the interior spaces with the large lawn. Ample parking and circulation enable the site to host large events and gatherings.
